First week back in Paradise
After 11 hours of flight time, we arrived in Point-á-Pitre, Guadeloupe, at 9 pm. Guadeloupe is one of the islands that is the French West Indies, also known as the French Caribbean. 🇬🇵
The warm, humid air hit us and I felt all stress melt away.
We didn’t leave the beach at the hotel for the first couple of days, just relaxing and trying to catch up some sleep. One day we went for a walk to the next beach, Plage de la Perle, and found a nice place in the shade to lay out our towels and then went to play in the waves.
Later in the week we was in the mood for diving. We took us to the nearest village Deshaies, where we met up with Eric at one of the local PADI center. Tropicalsub Divers. He was our captain and dive master for the day.
We met Eric back in 2015, when we did our first dive here in Guadeloupe.
Location for the day, Paul Thomas, a few km south of Deshaies.
One dive later, Eric decided to go back to shore because of the conditions. The wind had been coming from the north in the last couple of days, so the visibility wasn’t as good as it normally would be. You could only see around 6-7 meters, instead of ca 25 meters.
Back at the dive center, Eric served us some nice Planteur, which is the local rum-cocktail. Made with rum agricole and fruit juices. 😍👌
When we wrote down the information from the dive we also talked about the different species we saw on the dive. Sipping on our nice, cold plantuer! 🍹
This is all for now, see you in a few days! ☺️
