Diving the Great Barrier Reef
It was finally time for us to dive the great barrier reef. We looked trough a lot of brochures before settling on a sailboat with a maximum of 25 guest.
We walked to the marina and boarded the boat, the crew welcomed us all with a smile and everyone packed away their shoes and bags and we all settled in the cockpit for cast off and a safety briefing.
Two ours of enjoyable drive out to the reef with some gearing up for us divers and we were all ready right after we tied of to the mooring, the divers where to go in first.
We were a bit unlucky with the dive site today as it was a strong current and also bad visibility maybe 7 meters. Though we saw some interesting things, for example a big stingray the dive was quite messy.
Me and Sofie decided to do a second dive not to leave us with the bad feeling of the first dive. This one was better even though it was still the same current we were more prepared and the dive was planned for the current situation.
We were happy with the decision to do a second dive. After the dive we all got the choice to go by dinghy to an island called Green Island. But my family alone chose to stay on the boat.
That was a good choice because Sofie got to film a few sharks just by the boat and we could all just relax on foredeck of the boat and we took a quick nap in the beautiful weather.
Well back home we all just fell right asleep, tired after a long day out at sea.
